"The places I’ve been overlap for me and inform each other constantly to make my sense of home."
Cityscapes, and the look of a high-rise building at night, have always held me captivated. Coming from a rural town with barely any street lamps, then going to school in the city, meant nighttime would be brought to life by stacks of lit windows. For this piece, I wanted to honor my drives into Boston, which have become a sort of limbo between my homes, and one of my homes in their own right. The swamps off the sides of the highway with the dead trees shooting up always punctuate my ride and remind me of skyscrapers. The places I’ve been overlap for me and inform each other constantly to make my sense of home.
